Matt is a Partner in the FS Consulting practice at KPMG in the UK, specialising in Regulation, Insurance and Conduct. Matt joined in 2026.
Prior to that he spent 25 years in regulation at the FCA and the Bank of England, including six years as the FCA’s Director of Insurance. During that time, Matt led reviews into complex cross-industry issues, such as multi-occupancy building insurance following the Grenfell tragedy; the rising price of personal lines insurance; and during the COVID-19 pandemic the landmark Supreme Court judgment on Business Interruption insurance. Matt was also responsible for the supervision of approx. 6,000 regulated insurers and intermediaries.
