In our December 2023 Private Equity Forum, we were delighted to welcome guest speaker, Jonathan Read, Head of PE Coverage for KPMG in the UK, who joined us for our Private Equity Forum in Jersey. Jonathan provided his insights on the UK deal and fund-raising market as well as the challenges and opportunities for PE firms in the current high interest environment.

We also heard from some of our PE experts who provided relevant industry updates.

• Paul Eastwood, Tax Partner, gave an update on tax matters and observations from the 2023 tax filing process;
• David Postlethwaite, ESG Associate Director, updated us on ESG market trends relevant to the PE sector;
• Jeffrey Parongan, Audit Director, provided an update on various local and international regulatory developments, including an overview of the Private Fund Advisor Rules, as issued by the SEC;
• Kimberly Coote, Audit Senior Manager, spoke on the latest valuation trends and an overview of the changes to the IPEV guidelines applicable for 2023 year ends.
