Norway: Regulatory fees to be introduced for UCITS & AIFs
The Norwegian Ministry of Finance has issued an amending regulation on the issuance of regulatory fees.
Starting January 2024, regulatory fees will apply for funds marketed on a cross-border basis in Norway.
Below is an overview of the applicable ranges set by the regulation:
Case | Regulatory fee |
Notification of alternative investments funds (AIFs), where either the fund or manager is based outside the EEA | Minimum NOK 5,000 and maximum NOK 30,000. |
Notification of EEA AIFs | Minimum NOK 5,000 and maximum NOK 30,000. |
Notification of EEA UCITS | Minimum NOK 5,000 and maximum NOK 30,000. |
Yearly fee for AIFs where either the fund or manager is based outside the EEA | Maximum NOK 10,000 |
Yearly fee for EEA AIFs | Maximum NOK 10,000 |
Yearly fee for EEA UCITS | Maximum NOK 10,000 |
The Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet) is responsible for setting the exact fees.
