Yvonne has almost twenty years’ experience in management, half of which were in senior positions within management consultancies, international and local NGOs, almost ten of which have been in Africa passionately striving to achieve sustainable impact with respect to enterprise and employment creation for youth and women. Yvonne has taken on management responsibilities beyond programme cycle management to oversee programmes and strategy and had multiple successes including securing and establishing a holistic GBP 7.7 million Youth Development Programme funded by DFID.
Before joining KPMG, Yvonne worked with a range clients including DFID, EC, Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, EIB, Comic Relief and private donors in Uganda, South Africa and Lesotho. She was the Deputy Country Director in VSO Uganda, in charge of the northern field office overseeing a portfolio of over GBP 10 million. There she grew their programme income substantially, enabling them to support tens of thousands of youth and women.
Yvonne combines her passion, development skills with a strong analytical and financial management background to the management of IDAS’s Governance and Social Sector portfolio, while advocating for the pivotal role women play in the scale of impact in programmes and on society as a whole.
