At KPMG Ignition Tokyo (KIT), we provide different career tracks according to members’ roles, career aspirations, and rank:
For those at Manager level and above, there are two tracks.
【Management Track】
Overview:
A position responsible for managerial roles such as organizational budgeting, personnel, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the organization’s budget and personnel, and formulating direction and strategy
- Overseeing projects and making decisions
- Developing teams and managing talent
- Building relationships with clients and engaging in proposal activities
This track requires demonstrating leadership while contributing.
【Specialist Track】
Overview:
A career path designed for professionals who contribute to projects and operational tasks by leveraging their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing practical tasks utilizing specialized knowledge and skills
- Contributing to team and project activities within your area of expertise
- Continuously improving skills in your specialty and mentoring junior members
This track requires applying your expertise to make a direct impact on the success of projects.
For employees below Manager level, we offer the following three tracks:
【Solution Track】
Responsible for upstream processes of system development, including project management, identifying business issues, understanding requirements, and designing solutions.
【Technology Track】
Responsible for engineering, data analysis, security, and quality assurance.
【Professional Support Track】
Responsible for corporate department operations.

Talent Development Policy at KPMG Ignition Tokyo
At KIT, our goal is to cultivate true professionals. To achieve this, we have established a structured training program tailored to each position and role. By fostering a balanced growth across three key areas – expertise, skills, and human qualities – we aim to support both individual development and organizational progress.
Launchpad Program
To ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, we've implemented the “Launchpad Program.” As our team members grow, we continuously refine the onboarding process and strengthen our support systems to provide an even better experience.
Overview | A structured probationary program designed for new members who join KIT. The program's purpose is to help new members adapt smoothly to the new environment and be productive early on in their role. |
Duration | Six months from the date of joining. |
Evaluation Method | Monthly performance reviews using a three-level rating system. |
Evaluator | Each member’s Performance Manager is responsible for conducting the evaluations. |
Training Programs
Onboarding & Mandatory Training | Core programs defined by year of service. |
Various Training Opportunities | Guild-specific training, company-wide sessions, and programs for Performance Managers. |
Management Training | Designed for Managers and Senior Managers. |
Japanese Language Training | Group and private lessons for non-Japanese speakers. |
E Learning | Access to platforms such as Udemy, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and Degreed. |
Evaluation System
At KPMG Ignition Tokyo, we have adopted an absolute evaluation system.
The annual evaluation consists of the following elements.
Performance Evaluation | Assesses the achievement of performance goals based on the expected responsibilities for each rank (position) and role. In addition to direct contributions to business results, contributions to organizational growth and team development are also evaluated. |
Behavioral Evaluation | Evaluates whether the expected behaviors and mindset for each rank have been demonstrated. |
Talent Development
The Guild System is an organizational framework within KPMG Ignition Tokyo, composed of members who share common skill sets. Through Guilds, we promote effective delivery and support the growth and capability development of our members.
Skill Development:
We help each member enhance their expertise and capabilities through training programs, personalized support, and mentoring – empowering career growth and professional advancement.
Skill Application:
Based on project needs, we assign and support members with the right skills. By enabling individuals to leverage their strengths and contribute effectively, we maximize overall organizational performance.
Knowledge Sharing:
Members share insights and experience gained from projects both within and beyond their Guilds, enriching the organization’s collective knowledge. Through study sessions and “Show & Tell” activities, we foster a culture of continuous learning.
