KPMG in the UK has appointed Joe Cassidy as its new Head of Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT). Joe replaces Ian West, who has led the firm’s activity in the sector for the past five years.
Joe has been with KPMG for nearly a decade, most recently holding the positions of Head of Corporate Strategy and Head of Financial Services Strategy. In these roles he has led transformation and change at some of KPMG’s largest FTSE, global, and startup clients across the Fintech, Technology, and Financial Services sectors. Joe will retain these roles in addition to his new appointment.
Joe is also currently Chair of the Swiss Market Advisory Group for TheCityUK.
Prior to working at KPMG, Joe worked in leadership roles at Lloyds Banking Group, Deutsche Bank and Nomura International.
Mark Gibson, Global TMT Sector Lead at KPMG, said: “The TMT sector has experienced significant disruption, and Joe brings a wealth of knowledge to our UK TMT practice to help clients through their most difficult challenges. KPMG has led some of the largest TMT organisations through major transformations globally, and I am delighted that Joe will take the helm in the UK and grow our reputation as their indispensable partner.”
Joe Cassidy, incoming Head of TMT at KPMG in the UK, said: “The pace of change in the TMT sector is unparalleled, and we continue to see huge growth potential with the introduction of disruptive technologies. I am looking forward to stepping into this role to support our clients and guide them through this evolutionary period. I will work closely with UK and global TMT leadership and sector communities to deliver on our ambitions for this fast-paced sector and continue to drive cross-sector and cross-capability collaboration for our clients.”
