Commenting on announcements in the Chancellor’s Budget today focused on London, Anna Purchas, office senior partner for KPMG’s headquarters in Canary Wharf said:
“Announcements to boost much needed house building in London are very welcome; housing is a critical ingredient to grow the London economy and retain our skilled workforce. There is a very vibrant community in Canary Wharf, and it will be great to have more homes here for people to enjoy the fantastic range of activities on offer.
“London is traditionally associated with the financial sector but has been developing its life science ecosystem for a number of years, with Canary Wharf looking to establish Europe’s largest commercial laboratory building. With access to infrastructure, leading universities, skilled digital staff and fast-growth hubs, Canary Wharf is a great location to build and grow a world leading life sciences centre of excellence.”
