      Business confidence in Wales stands strong at 86%, closely mirroring the national figure of 87%, with 37% of leaders expressing a high level of confidence compared to 40% across the UK. The region’s commitment to reskilling is especially notable, as 45% of Welsh employers prioritise workforce transformation, significantly outpacing the national average of 38%. This strategic emphasis positions Welsh businesses at the forefront of adaptability, equipping organisations to address shifting market demands and sustain long-term growth while supporting the broader ambitions of the region.

      Stepping up cyber awareness and digital readiness

      Welsh businesses are demonstrating a distinct and deliberate focus as they navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and risk. With 34% of organisations prioritising technology investment and 31% concentrating on AI, both just below the UK averages of 39% and 38% respectively, leaders in Wales are showing that careful, targeted action has clear value.

      At the same time, 66% of Welsh businesses report increased awareness of cyber risks, compared to 70% nationally, while 46% acknowledge a rise in other risks, closely aligning with the UK figure of 48%. These figures highlight a region that is both alert and responsive, balancing ambition with insight to ensure sustainable progress for the future.

      With recruitment confidence in Wales at 46%, just below the national figure of 49%, and 25% of employers reporting recruitment challenges compared to 24% nationally, Welsh business leaders are taking clear, strategic action.
