Year-End financial disclosures offer valuable insights into the performance and strategies of companies, making it crucial to analyse them on both a sector and segmented basis for comparability.

This KPMG report examines the Year-End 2024 Solvency II (UK) and IFRS disclosures of 15 UK life insurers, providing an overview of their solvency and new business performance, as well as their strategies to optimize capital generation. Consistent with our analysis at Year-End 2023, this report compares IFRS 17 new business metrics across companies and further explores comparisons between IFRS 17 and Solvency II metrics where disclosed. However, the definitions of new business measures vary between Solvency II, IFRS 17, and other metrics, making meaningful comparisons across metrics and companies challenging.

Additionally, this report summarizes the economic and non-economic assumptions used by insurers, their hedging strategies, and climate-related financial disclosures providing a comparative overview of the key disclosed variables
