KPMG UK has today announced changes to its Deal Advisory leadership team and continues to strengthen the practice with the promotion of 21 new partners.

Jonathan Boyers has been appointed as a Vice Chair for the firm and also as Executive Chair of Corporate Finance. Jonathan has over 33 years of dealmaking experience, having led KPMG’s UK Corporate Finance practice since 2017, growing the practice to record revenues over the last five years. In his new role, he will continue to advise on corporate finance deals, and he will play a larger role in the firm’s strategic activity, with a focus on inorganic growth. The move also sees Jonathan join the Board of KPMG Acceleris, the firm’s new Venture Capital advisory business.

Taking over from Jonathan as UK Head of Corporate Finance is Rob Baxter. Rob is a Partner and UK Head of Consumer Goods & Retail M&A at KPMG, and he has over 20 years of corporate finance expertise. He has advised on a range of high-profile transactions, including the sale of The Whisky Exchange to Pernod Ricard, the sale of Mindful Chef to Nestlé, as well as advising Tesco, Reckitt Benckiser and other corporates. His experience spans M&A, debt advisory, corporate development and special situations. Alongside his new role, Rob will continue to lead the UK firm’s Consumer Goods & Retail M&A team.

Partner and UK Head of Deal Advisory, Liz Claydon, who was also recently appointed as Head of Global Deal Advisory at KPMG International said: “I would like to congratulate Jonathan and Rob on their new appointments. They are both extremely talented and trusted leaders, and I look forward to working with them to deliver our growth strategy for the future, while ensuring we continue to deliver value for our clients.”

In addition, KPMG UK has confirmed the appointment of 21 new partners across its Deal Advisory practice and a further 185 colleagues have been promoted, demonstrating the strength and growth of the business.

Liz Claydon commented: “With over 130 Deal Advisory partners now in the market, I am incredibly proud to welcome 21 new partners to our business, alongside the promotion of 185 colleagues. It’s fantastic to see so many of our partners and people recognised for their hard work, dedication, and expertise. Investing in our people is at the heart of our strategy, and these promotions are testament to the breadth of skills and diversity of talent we have in our business.

“The world we live in is rapidly changing, and it’s a critical time for many of our clients who are operating within a challenging economic and geopolitical environment. Increasingly businesses are looking to us to help them grow or transform and create value, whether that be through M&A, end-to-end transaction advice, or strategic support - from design to execution.

“We have made significant investments in technology to ensure our people have the best tools, and the tech and analytics that give us the cutting edge in our markets. I’m confident that we will continue to deliver the best advice to our clients as we help them to grow, transform and succeed.”
