Angela is a tax disputes lawyer in the KPMG Law team. She has 20 years of experience of advising clients on tax law in both a contentious and transactional sphere across all industry sectors. She joined KPMG in January 2019 to focus on resolution of direct tax disputes, having been a tax partner at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP since 2010.

Prior to her move to KPMG (in the 2019 rankings), Angela was listed as a leading individual for corporate tax by the Legal 500, who commented that she is a “brilliant litigator”. 

She has extensive experience of resolving cross border tax disputes, with experience spanning diverted profits tax, permanent establishment and residence disputes (for corporates and HNWIs) and double tax treaty disputes (including advising on mutual agreement processes). 

Angela advises on domestic direct tax disputes, and has particular strength in corporation tax, capital allowances, capital gains and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) matters. She has significant experience in the application of “main purpose” tests and targeted anti-avoidance provisions. She has a strong track record of settling cases before litigation.
