Gary is part of our National Markets Transaction Services practice in London and has over 18 years’ experience working both on the buy and sell side of transactions. He is a member of the specialist Professional Practices Solutions Group.
He joined KPMG 2 years ago, having led the Transaction Services offering to the legal sector in the UK during his time with PwC. He has worked on 25-30 law firm mergers and legal sector transactions in the UK and across the globe, including:
- Due diligence for a Top 30 UK firm in relation to their proposed merger with one of the largest firms in Canada
- Due diligence work in relation to the merger of a Magic Circle firm and a US counterpart
- Support to two potential UK merger partners in the form of due diligence, business modelling and synergy planning
- Financial due diligence for a top 20 UK firm in relation to their merger with a Middle Eastern practice
- 2 buyside due diligence roles in relation to mergers between top 50 UK firms and US merger partners
- Due diligence for a top 20 UK firm in relation to their proposed merger with a similar sized UK practice
- Financial review of a global firm’s German office for a top 30 UK firm in relation to lateral hires
- Due diligence work for a top 30 firm in relation to their association agreement with a Danish law firm
- Two separate due diligence assignments for leading global law firms in relation to their proposed mergers with firms in South-East Asia
- Buy-side due diligence for a top 25 UK firm in relation to their merger with a German practice
- A review of an Australian legal services business on behalf of a top 25 UK firm
- Buy-side due diligence for a financial investor in relation to their investment in a conveyancing and personal injury firm
- Other assignments include working for US and Canadian law firms looking at potential mergers with Top 50 UK firms
- Buyside due diligence for a top 25 UK firm in relation to their acquisition in Russia
