Sandra Gilchrist

Sandra is a Tax Partner and Head of financial services for KPMG’s innovation reliefs and incentives group.  Based in Scotland, she leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists/engineers, accountants and tax specialists who assist clients in the financial services sector. 

Sandra also leads KPMG’s innovation reliefs and incentives team in Scotland, the team assist clients from large national and multi-national organisations to small-medium size enterprises

She has been involved in claims for research and development (R&D) tax relief since 2005 and brings a deep experience of how the regime has evolved over time which enabled her to assist clients in managing and facilitating agreement of enquiries from HM revenue and customs (HMRC). 

More recently Sandra has worked extensively with companies to help design and implement real time systems for identifying and capturing relief for R&D expenditure.
