Mathew serves a wide range of global clients spanning multiple sectors including defence, critical national infrastructure, financial services and telecommunications.

Mathew Ettelaie is a Senior Manager in KPMG's Cyber Defence Services practice. He specialises in performing and leading security testing exercises (ethical hacking/penetration testing) which aim to replicate the activities of malicious actors ranging from hacktivists through to malicious insiders and nation-states.

Serving a wide range of global clients spanning multiple sectors including defence, critical national infrastructure, financial services and telecommunications has afforded him a wealth of experience and deep understanding of the threats and vulnerabilities organisations face in the cyber domain.

He has also worked closely with government bodies providing security assurance on high-profile and high-risk assets.

His research experience focuses on developing new tools and techniques to facilitate further network exploitation and specialising in the compromise of 'low-priority' internet of things equipment (printers, smartTV's etc) to gain full network control.

Mathew was shortlisted for and subsequently won "UK Penetration Tester of the Year" at the 2016 Cyber Security Awards.
