KPMG in the UK

Richard joined KPMG in July 2005 as an actuary in KPMG’s Financial Services Actuarial Practice. He qualified as an actuary in 1997 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK). Most recently Richard has been assisting the Group Finance team of a Global insurance group on financial reporting, actuarial centre of excellence development, Solvency II and finance transformation. Richard has worked with a wider range of UK and Global Life Insurers with a recent focus on supporting the implementation of Solvency II, covering all aspects with particular focus on Pillar 1 internal models and Pillar 3 reporting improvements. Richard has considerable experience in running large scale actuarial model development and model validation projects. He has worked with a range of insurers in the UK, Europe, South Africa and the US reviewing and improving actuarial processes and controls including the interaction with the wider finance function to assist clients with improving both the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. This has included particular focus on improving control environments over actuarial processes for clients. Richard has acted as Reviewing Actuary for a number of KPMG audit clients. Prior to joining KPMG he ran a business unit within a UK insurer with responsibility for profit performance and business development.
