Magnus Becher is a Director in KPMG's Forensic Team and brings over 10 years of experience in compliance and 6 years of experience in Forensic Technology where he leads information governance, privacy, eDiscovery, and legal and compliance review engagements. He delivers timely and cost-effective technology-enabled solutions to assist fact development and discovery for clients.
Prior to KPMG, Magnus led the UK & EMEA Business Development function at various Electronic Discovery Service Providers. Magnus’s sector focus includes financial services, oil and gas, pharma and industrial clients amongst other public and private sector clients. His work includes investigating fraud, corruption, money laundering, and litigation support in matters ranging from data subject access requests to high court litigation.
Magnus’s experience also includes working at Relativity (kCura), which is a key technology partner to KPMG, where he focused on direct enterprise engagements across Europe and at Bloomberg in a similar capacity.
Currently, Magnus is working on the end to end investigation of an IT systems for the largest retailer in the UK. The work includes the analysis of complex structured and unstructured data sets in the first phase. The second phase is to develop a target operating model for the investigation function to operate in a more efficient manner and in closer collaboration with Legal and IT.
In another matter, he is leading the end to end electronic discovery and cyber investigation for a large health care organisation.
In an M&A matter, he is working with a large global corporate client to separate two business units following a divestiture. The work involves the processing, analysis, review and data delivery of over 50TB of raw data.
