      Phil Roper is a Partner and National Technical Leader for Transfer Pricing at KPMG UK.

      With 25 years of experience in international corporate tax and transfer pricing, Phil advises multinational clients on designing and implementing tax-efficient transfer pricing policies. He began his career at a Big 4 firm and later held senior in-house roles at AstraZeneca, where he led major projects including the repatriation of over $5 billion to the UK and served as a board member for several group companies.

      Since joining KPMG in 2012, Phil has led complex international tax and transfer pricing projects for some of the firm’s largest clients. He manages KPMG’s relationship with HMRC on transfer pricing policy and technical matters, and regularly provides input on key developments such as UK Transfer Pricing reform, Diverted Profits Tax, and OECD initiatives. Phil’s focus areas include resolving transfer pricing disputes, particularly those relating to business restructuring and intangible assets, and developing innovative approaches to value chain analysis and risk assessment. A recognised thought leader, Phil has authored numerous articles and is a key contributor to KPMG’s feedback on OECD transfer pricing guidance.
