Caroline has over 40 years’ experience working with global organisations during periods of change, including turnaround, culture change, rapid growth, delivering value from mergers & acquisitions and cost optimisation. She was a Partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. She is currently an independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of Colleague Engagement Committee of Spirax Group plc and previous roles include Chairing the board of Synthomer plc as well as non-executive roles at Shepherd Group Ltd, including Portakabin, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and a large community-based charity. She was a Member of the Audit Committee of the Crown Prosecution Service, has chaired the governing body of Durham University and sat on the boards of both the Universities of Leeds and Manchester.
