Kate is a Director in KPMG UK’s transfer pricing team. Kate has over 15 years of transfer pricing experience at KPMG with a deep specialism in Capital Management. She supports a wide range of clients from private equity (“PE”) portfolio companies and owner manager businesses to large multinationals on all their transfer pricing financing arrangements needs.
Kate has extensive experience of assisting companies in supporting the interest deductibility of their financing arrangements from a UK transfer pricing perspective and securing beneficial advance agreements with HMRC.
Kate advises on transfer pricing aspects from initial bid phase of deals through to post completion services including robust transfer pricing funding documentation, policy design, tax authority dispute prevention and resolution, and deal readiness. Throughout these project Kate works closely with other members of the Deal Advisory Tax, International Tax and Corporate Tax teams to provide advice to groups regarding optimum tax structuring.
Recent projects include:
- Transfer pricing advice on setting and implementing the transfer pricing policy for their intragroup funding (including cash pool arrangements (physical and notional) and long term structural loans) for a large luxury retail group;
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating an Advance Thin Capitalisation Agreement with HMRC for a large financing company;
- Preparing transfer pricing funding documentation for numerous PE portfolio companies; and
- Being selected through competitive tender to be the ‘preferred advisor’ for a PE House to support all their historical investments which have not sought transfer pricing funding advice.
