KPMG Law Ukraine has been recognised among the leading law firms in Ukraine in the 2024 edition of The Legal 500: Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). Regarded as one of the most authoritative legal directories globally, the publication highlighted both the firm’s consistent performance and new achievements.
KPMG Law Ukraine retained its Tier 3 rankings in several core practice areas: Banking, Finance and Capital Markets; Commercial, Corporate and M&A; Dispute Resolution; Energy; and Real Estate and Construction. Private Client practice was also ranked in Tier 3.
This year’s edition of the rankings also marked two significant developments for the firm. KPMG Law Ukraine’s Employment practice advanced to Tier 2, a result of the dedicated efforts of Sona Mursalova, Senior Associate in the firm’s Labour and Social Security Law practice. Equally notable was KPMG Law Ukraine’s debut in the International Trade category, ranking in Tier 3. This achievement is credited to both the legal services team at KPMG as a whole and specifically to Vladyslav Fisun, a Senior Associate with sectoral expertise.
KPMG Law Ukraine’s Tax practice retained its Tier 1 ranking, reaffirming KPMG’s status as a market leader in the field of taxation. According to The Legal 500 editorial:
“KPMG Law in Ukraine fields a tax offering which operates with the support of its specialised audit, legal, deal advisory, and management consulting departments, equipped to cater to both major multinationals and high net worth individuals. Co-leading the team are Sergii Popov, Oksana Olekhova, and Oleksandr Boboshko; Popov advises on tax aspects of M&A and corporate restructurings, while Olekhova covers tax optimisation, deal structuring, and due diligence, and Boboshko has particular strength in international tax. Daryna Lomantsova has experience in the pharmaceutical, IT, and retail sectors, among others.”
In the context of Russia’s full-scale invasion and a volatile business environment, such international recognition takes on heightened significance — both for the firm and for clients who seek reliability, expertise, and strategic vision in challenging circumstances.
The Legal 500 ranking is not only a marker of reputation, but also a guidepost for international players seeking legal counsel in Ukraine. For KPMG Law Ukraine, recognition from such publications is another step towards our ambitious goal: sustainable growth across all key practice areas in a competitive legal market
