Timur started his carrier Accounting Auditor in Ministry of Finance and then appointed as Tax inspector at the Board of Tax Inspectors of the Ministry of Finance in 1993. After completing Master Degree in Accountancy (MSA) at University of Illinois, he was appointed as Head of Group to the Revenue Administration. During his duty, he was responsible for the implementation of the SCT (Special Consumption Tax), GATT, BITT (Banking and Insurance Transaction Tax), Customs, EU Affairs and Double Taxation Treaties, Multilateral and Bilateral agreements.
In 2006, he was appointed as Head of EU and Foreign Affairs Department until his resignation in 2011. During his duty as the head of department at the Revenue Administration, he was responsible for negotiation and implementation of the double tax treaties, EU tax exemption system for the charities, multilateral and bilateral tax agreements like GATT, BTC and Blue Stream, and Ankara OECD Multilateral Tax Center. He was also responsible for implementing of the double tax treaties as a “Turkish Competent Authority”, Furthermore, he leaded several DTA negotiation and managed MAP applications. Also he was the Turkish Delegate in CFA (OECD) and WP1 Delegate for almost 4 years.
Besides his main job he also had been responsible for the managing and implementation of SCT, VAT and CIT together with EU and foreign Affairs Department. He attended to KPMG Türkiye as Tax Partner in 2012 and He is acting as a Head of Tax of KPMG Turkey since September 2021. He is also teaching EMBA Program at Bilkent Universitiy and time to time he attends Bahçeşehir University as a part-time instructor for the tax accounting and auidt courses
