The Side-by-Side package also introduces a one-year extension of the existing transitional protection regime, giving multinational groups additional time to adapt to the new permanent protection framework, the Simplified ETR Safe Harbour. Considering that a large number of groups currently qualify under these simplification measures, this extension is considered welcome, explains Andrada Goriță, Senior Manager in the Financial Services department.
