On January 1, 2025, a new Polish Classification of Activities – PKD 2025, which replaced PKD 2007, came into force. The changes apply to all entrepreneurs who are registered in the National Economic Register (KRS) or the Central Registration and Information on Business (CEIDG).
What has changed?
PKD codes have been updated, adapting them to new economic and technological trends and changing legal regulations. New codes have been introduced for activities that have become more important, and the definitions of some departments have been updated to better reflect the current state of the market. The update of the PKD is aimed at, among m.in others, simplifying the classification, unifying the terminology, as well as adapting to the changes made in the European Union classification (NACE).
Who is bound by PKD 2025?
Every entrepreneur registered in the National Court Register or CEIDG should check whether their existing codes are consistent with the new classification. If your business is covered by new or changed codes, it should be amended.
Entrepreneurs commencing their business after 1 January 2025 are obliged to use PKD 2025. Entrepreneurs who started their business before 1 January 2025 are obliged to update their PKD codes by 31 December 2026 at the latest.
