Biodiversity is increasingly and in a more structured way being discussed in the public arena as a key topic for the future of human life. It is recognized that biodiversity and balancing of ecosystems as such, is largely influenced by corporate behavior and needs to be mainstreamed in the economic sectors that have the greatest impact on biodiversity. This can be achieved through the integration of biodiversity considerations into the governance of companies, which is much more complex and comprehensive than simply complying with regulations, such as CSRD and ISSB, which are often prone to interpretations1.
Biodiversity as a fundamental component of business strategy
Integrating biodiversity involves developing nature intelligence, data management, stakeholder engagement, and standardized guidelines in order to be able to disclose on biodiversity.
