Fund Distribution Alert 2023-12

As of early November 2023, Slovenia has introduced new guidelines regarding the fees for EU UCITS or EU AIFs registered in the country. 

The new fee structure is as follows:

• EU UCITS: Registration fee of 235€ (50 points*), annual supervisory fee of 940€ (200 points*),

• EU AIFs targeting professional investors: Registration fee of 235€ (50 points*), annual supervisory fee of 235€ (50 points*). 

• EU AIFs targeting non-professional investors: Registration fee of 352.5€ (75 points*), annual supervisory fee of 940€ (200 points*).

*4.7€ = 1 point

1. Payment Period 

The annual supervisory fees must be paid by May 31st each year.

The registration fees must be paid on the day of submitting the notification to the Slovenian authority.

2. Payment Procedure  

Information on these new fees and payment procedures can also be found on the Securities Market Agency's website.

To clarify, as per the latest Guidance from the Slovenian authority, registration fees will apply to all new notifications starting from November 2023. However, regarding the annual fees due by May 31st, these will apply to funds already registered in Slovenia. 

The annual fees for the funds registered in Slovenia must be transferred before May 31st to the authority's bank account. It is important to ensure that the full amount is credited, including the specified reference, without deductions for bank charges or other costs.
