The BRICS Solutions Awards 2026 are about much more than recognition. They shine a light on ideas that have the potential to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time, from resource sustainability and food security to digital health and inclusive growth.

This year, hundreds of award applications received from across BRICS economies reflected the depth of innovation emerging from our communities, businesses and institutions. What is particularly encouraging is that many of the winning solutions can be adapted and scaled across borders, creating impact far beyond their place of origin. As BRICS nations strengthen cooperation, we have a unique opportunity to accelerate the exchange of knowledge, scale what works, and turn promising innovations into meaningful outcomes for millions. Innovation guided by purpose remains one of the most powerful forces for positive change.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations are a call-for-action by all countries across 17 critical areas for global sustainable development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

Achievement of the SDGs requires contribution from stakeholders across public as well as private sectors. Tackling the world’s most pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges is in the mutual interest of the public and private sectors.

Businesses have been a critical player in helping nations progress on the SDGs. It is not just the social investment or financial contributions by which businesses have a role to play. In meeting the world’s development challenges, businesses have come up with innovative solutions. They are also taking active part in ensuring access to affordable, quality products and services around health, education, water and sanitation, energy, and finance, to low-income and underserved communities. Technology based applications are being actively used across the BRICS countries to address SDG-related challenges. The digital solutions and innovations have facilitated continuation of sustainable development agenda even in the backdrop of the pandemic. Going forward, digital solutions will be essential for driving economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability.

The BRICS Solutions for SDGs Awards 2026 are aimed at recognising the work being done across BRICS countries in achieving these SDGs, especially through innovative solutions. The contest will help in exchange of knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions in the area of SDGs. It will also foster greater collaboration amongst BRICS economies towards meeting the sustainable development agenda.
