We believe in life-long learning
We support life-long learning
Learning is part of our people's daily life and serves as a tool for personal and professional development. We recognize the benefits of education and life-long learning, and take part in a series of actions focusing on UN's Sustainable Development Goal 4, for quality education. To achieve this, we have engaged in a number of initiatives and our life-long learning projects include:
School libraries and laptop donations
KPMG in collaboration with the Hellenic Book Club for more than 6 years, creates and enriches lending libraries across Greece by participating in KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL), an international program to combat child illiteracy. Specifically, with this program, KPMG has placed 13 Lending Libraries in 13 schools in Greece with 1,290 quality books, an action of love, culture and social sensitivity for 2 344 students and 296 teachers. Additionally, laptops have been donated to 12 schools including schools in Aghia Paraskevi, Peristeri, Artemida, Lagonisi, Korydallo, Nea Filadelpheia, Vrilissia, Acharne, Filothei and Glyfada.
‘‘Boroume at School’’ Program
KPMG in Greece supports in coordination with NGO ‘‘Boroume’’ the program ‘‘Boroume at School’’ which aims to teach children of all ages about food waste. This program aims to raise awareness on the value and importance of being active citizens by showing solidarity to those less fortunate, as well as, the importance of volunteering.
“Back to School” program
Since 2016 our people participate in their on way in the start of the school year. All collected school supplies were for children aged from 18 months to 7 years old, who are attending the early intervention programs of ELEPAP, the Greek organisation which offers Rehabilitation for the Disabled. We also supported MKO ΘΕΟΦΙΛΟΣ who helps families with many children with school material.
ELEPAP-Rehabilitation for The Disabled, a rehabilitation centre with six branches throughout Greece and more than 80 years of history, supports the development of children with physical disabilities and developmental difficulties and at the same time provides support to their families. ELEPAP offers a series of integrated intervention programs for infants, pre-school and school- age children.
“KPMG Global Cyber Days” program
We held our first Global Cyber Days in Greece in October 2018, in the context of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM). This is a social initiative of global reach organized by KPMG International, aimed at educating school-age children, as well as the adults of their environment, about the importance of cyber safety.
Up to now more than 1460 students and parents benefited from this award winning program in Greece.
Mentoring with Job Pairs
More than 20 KPMG professionals share their experience and knowledge by being mentors to individuals in search of a role model. Since 2014 and to this day, executives from our firm volunteer in the Job-Pairs mentoring program, offering free professional guidance to young graduates to help them successfully enter the job market. Job Pairs is under the auspices of the Hellenic Institute for Human Resource Management (ΕΙΜΑΔ), as part the Human Resource Management Association of Greece (ΣΔΑΔΕ).
“Εκτός Εργασίας; Εντός Ευκαιρίας!” program
KPMG’s “Εκτός Εργασίας; Εντός Ευκαιρίας!” program involves support to individuals seeking employment and is addressed to two groups: young people with no work experience and senior, former executives, with at least 5 years of work experience.
