KPMG’s new offices, ‘THE WAVE’, highlight our green side

KPMG’s new offices, “The Wave”, have been awarded the internationally recognized LEED Gold certification for the high standards of sustainability embedded in their design and operations. This milestone highlights the firm’s commitment to develop a green identity. The certification criteria included, among others, energy efficiency, the use of sustainable materials, and the creation of a high-quality indoor environment. The building follows the principles of bioclimatic architecture, with its façade being designed in a way that visually echoes the dynamic movement of Syngrou Avenue. Strategically located near public transportation hubs and equipped with bike parking facilities as well as electric vehicle charging stations, The Wave contributes significantly to reducing the company’s CO₂ emissions and supports its target of achieving net zero carbon by 2030.

In terms of environmental performance, since 2019 KPMG has reduced paper consumption by 60%, limiting it to just 4.7 tons. Moreover, dedicated recycling bins for paper, plastic, batteries, outdated tech equipment, and laptops have been installed across the premises while in 2023 alone, 6.7 tons of materials were recycled. At the same time, the firm continues to explore new ways to reduce water consumption while further minimizing paper use by promoting digital tools across all aspects of its operations.
