Transformation & Inclusion at KPMG strengthens our business, enriches our culture and enables us to deepen our relationships with our clients, our people and our communities.

KPMG’s Transformation and Inclusion efforts are undergirded by the principles set out in the Broad Based Black Economic Codes and South Africa’s transformation legislative provisions and supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), namely ending poverty (1), Quality Education(4), Gender Equality (5), Good Jobs and Economic Growth(8) and, Reduced Inequalities (10).

We recognise the critical business role we play in strengthening and shaping the country’s economy and we remain committed to giving full effect to ensuring growth, creating employment, driving empowerment and supporting equitable outcomes.

Our efforts to promote transformation, both within the firm and in society more broadly, are a significant part of our purpose and business ethos. Internally, these efforts include programmes to recruit and develop young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and providing fair opportunities for our employees to develop their full potential. Additionally, our internal transformation efforts are focused on our people, ownership equity and creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce who are trained and developed to meet our strategic and operational business objectives. Externally, we engage in activities to transform the communities in which we operate, by supporting and growing enterprises, providing funding for projects, and through our corporate social investment initiatives. Our efforts also extend to enabling human rights, BBBEE empowerment initiatives, engagements with our suppliers and ensuring that we continuously focus on diversifying our supply chain through the support we render to small business and the benefits derived by the communities we impact.

Operating our business in a country where much reform is still needed can cause one to lose sight of broader people trends and developments.  As a global entity, we partner with our counterparts locally and across the world to ensure we stay abreast of leading-edge learning and insights.

We believe that transformation is a critical business imperative and that Inclusion and diversity are essential to endearing trust and harnessing the potential of our diverse workforces.
