Generative and agentic AI has fundamentally changed the relationship between people and knowledge. Today, answers are instantly accessible — but the value of those answers depends entirely on the quality of the questions we ask, and the judgment we bring to evaluating what comes back. The defining human capability in this environment is no longer the ability to retrieve information. It is the ability to think critically, ask better questions, and make sound judgments in the face of AI-generated content where fluency and confidence are no guarantee of accuracy.

To ask better questions, you need perspective — built through lived experience and through reading. “Read to Lead” is a joint initiative by KPMG and NLB to bring reading into the workplace and to build this capability at a national scale.

Panel discussion: Staying sharp in an AI-driven workplace

Venue: Asia Square Atrium, 12 Marina View, Singapore 018961

      Time: 1.45pm - 2.30pm

Synopsis: You’re already using AI at work. The question is whether you know enough about where it goes wrong to protect yourself when it does.

AI tools are becoming increasingly essential in the workplace, but the gap between using AI and using it well is wider than many realise. Join us for a practical session exploring the real risks, governance challenges and judgment skills professionals need to navigate an AI-driven world with confidence.

Through expert insights and a panel discussion featuring industry and academic leaders, the session will unpack AI risks, governance, trust and discernment, examining what trustworthy AI looks like in practice and how professionals can better navigate a rapidly evolving landscape.

      What you’ll walk away with:

      • A clearer picture of how AI is reshaping the risk landscape — not just for organisations, but for individual professionals
      • The red flags worth training yourself to spot when working with AI-generated content and decisions
      • A view from law and governance on where the rules are heading — and what that means for how you work today
      • A founder’s perspective on the gap between “trustworthy AI” and the reality on the ground

Explore different genres of books and meet likeminded book lovers in this event where we match people who want to talk about books instead of looking for relationships. Panel discussion: One stage ahead: Leadership, growth and reinvention in the AI era

Venue: National Library Board, Level 5, 100 Victoria St, Singapore 188064

      Time: 7.00pm - 8.00pm

Synopsis: Here’s an uncomfortable truth: by the time you’ve figured out how to win at your current stage, the best leaders are already three moves ahead – building capabilities, teams and instincts that will matter long before everyone else realises they need them. That’s not luck. It’s a different way of reading the game.

This session examines why scaling is not a milestone to be reached, but a mindset to be embraced. Learn how successful businesses design for growth from the outset, transforming their business models long before they reach major milestones. Chiu Wu Hong, Partner, Head of Private Enterprise, KPMG in Singapore, will unpack what "good" looks like at every stage of company growth, followed by a panel discussion and open Q&A where you can bring your own growth-stage challenges and questions.

Who this is for: Founders, SME owners, business operators, and PMETs – wherever you are in your growth journey
