      The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has opened a call for applications to support investments in renewable energy sources (RES). The programme budget is PLN 300 million. Funding is available, inter alia, for projects involving the use of biomethane and biogas. Applications can be submitted until 30 April 2026.

      Programme information

      On 30 January 2026, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management [Polish: Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej] announced a call for applications to support investments in renewable energy sources (RES).

      • For whom:
        • Business entities.
      • For what:
        • Construction, reconstruction, modernisation and expansion of renewable energy sources for the production of biomethane, including connection to the gas grid.
        • Construction or expansion of renewable energy sources for the generation of electricity and/or heat from biogas, including energy storage facilities serving the respective renewable energy source, as well as grid connection, including infrastructure enabling the use of heat generated in cogeneration.
      • Call allocation:
        • The budget of the call is PLN 300 million.
      • Types of support (it is mandatory to finance the project using all three sources listed below):
        • Grant
          • Co-financing intensity: up to 39.06% of eligible costs; for projects implemented under the “project finance” formula, at least 33,19% of eligible costs.
        • Preferential loan
          • Co-financing intensity: at least 40.65% of eligible costs; for projects implemented under the “project finance” formula, at least 34.56% of eligible costs,
          • Interest rate on the loan: 0%,
          • Financing period: no longer than 15 years counted from the date of planned disbursement of the first tranche of the loan,
          • Period of capital repayment: up to 12 months counted from the date of completion of the project.
        • Loan on market terms (not constituting state aid)
          • Co-financing intensity: 20.29% of eligible costs; for projects implemented under the “project finance” formula, up to 17.25% of eligible costs,
          • Interest rate on the loan: interest rate at the level of the reference rate set in accordance with the European Commission's communication on the revision of the method for setting reference and discount rates; interest on interest paid on an ongoing basis in quarterly periods, the first repayment at the end of the calendar quarter following the quarter in which the first instalment of funds was paid out,
          • Financing period: no longer than 15 years counted from the date of planned disbursement of the first tranche of the loan,
          • Period of capital repayment: up to 12 months counted from the date of completion of the project.

       

      Applications may be submitted from 30.01.2026, to 30.04.2026.
