Auckland, New Zealand – 18 November 2024

KPMG New Zealand is pleased to launch KPMG Business IQ (Business IQ), an advanced digital platform designed to equip Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), with real-time data and actionable insights that help make financial and operational decision-making more effective.

Jon Holmes, KPMG Private Enterprise National Managing Partner, emphasises that access to high-quality data is essential in today's data-driven environment. However, SMEs often struggle with converting raw data into meaningful insights due to siloed data sources and a lack of resources.

"Our consolidated approach offers a single source of truth, enabling SMEs to better understand their financial and market position, and preparedness for success,"

“Business IQ is a game changer for SMEs, transforming complex finance and operational data into clear and actionable insights, in real time, via a simple user-friendly analytics dashboard.  Business IQ drives faster decision making, enhances productivity and helps businesses focus on the right metrics,” Holmes explains.

Powered by Microsoft Power BI technology, the platform generates data-rich dashboards by aggregating client data from their cloud-based tools. These dashboards give KPMG clients a detailed view of their financial health, enhanced cash flow forecasts, and performance metrics relative to their budget. Clients can also precisely manage trade receivables and payables, supported by in-depth financial ratio analysis for more informed decision-making.

Cowan Pettigrew, KPMG's Chief Digital Officer, notes that sophisticated data analytics are no longer reserved for large multinational corporations. "Recognising the need for accessible data solutions for SMEs, we have invested in developing a simplified platform that democratises data insights," Pettigrew said. "Business IQ leverages best practise and expertise honed from our bespoke global and local digital builds for our government and corporate clients, offering SMEs the tools they need to effectively compete and grow."

KPMG has introduced a subscription service for Business IQ, providing SMEs greater access and flexibility to the platform. The competitive $199 (excl. GST) monthly subscription has been market tested to ensure it meets the needs of SMEs looking for a good return on investment given the current economic conditions.

Holmes adds, "To fulfil KPMG’s purpose of fuelling New Zealand's prosperity, we believe that supporting Small and Medium-sized enterprises is essential – they constitute over 90% of all New Zealand businesses and contribute hugely to our economy. We’re doubling down on that commitment with Business IQ."
