John is a Director in our Indirect Tax team and is located in our Auckland tax practice. With more than 10 years' experience in tax, John specialises in indirect tax (including GST and customs) and corporate tax.

As KPMG's lead for customs projects, John advises on a wide range of customs issues including valuation, tariff classification, concessions and compliance reviews, and assists clients on administrative customs matters. He is our lead liaison with New Zealand Customs Service and was heavily involved in discussions and submissions with New Zealand Customs on their consultation for the re-write of New Zealand's custom legislation.

John is highly regarded amongst his clients and is known for his pragmatic approach and giving commercially sensible tax and business advice.
