Mike Coleman

Mike is a Partner in the Enterprise team at KPMG New Zealand based in Wellington with a passion for family business. KPMG Enterprise is about providing practical workable advice to help private and family business clients solve problems. He's been with KPMG for over 26 years and has backgrounds in both corporate financial advisory services and private and family enterprise. For the last 14 years his sole focus has been helping private and family businesses across a wide range of industries. Working with family business is about building deep relationships, understanding the family and the business over many years, often generations. That’s what he enjoys – you live the highs and lows with your clients which is one of the most rewarding aspects of his work. He draws upon the tools and disciplines that larger businesses have as a general practice to help family businesses grow – good practice around structure, governance, financial reporting and performance management and family and business succession. He is a passionate Wellingtonian, enjoys the intimacy of working with the capital's SMEs helping clients make long-term, fundamental change to improve business, family and community prosperity. Mike has a BCA in accountancy from Victoria University. After graduating he joined KPMG and has worked for KPMG in Wellington, Hong Kong and London.
