Welcome to the Legal Summit in Oslo

 

We are excited to invite you to the annual Legal Summit: The New Era of Legal, designed specifically for general counsels in the Nordic & Baltic region. As the legal landscape undergoes significant transformation, it is important to embrace digital advancements, navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment, and safeguard against emerging threats and security risks. 

What to expect: 

  • Our colleagues from KPMG will provide insights into the evolving role of the legal function and its operations, how digital transformation is reshaping in-house legal services and outline new regulatory requirements. 

  • Our technology partner Microsoft will share their expertise on AI trends, AI agents, and strategies relevant to general counsels. We will also get valuable insight from Lovdata and how they are developing their services within AI. 

  • We are delighted to welcome Equinor, Investinor, Finans Norge and several other speakers from companies leading the transformation in the legal field. They will share their experiences on security development, cyber security and essential measures for risk mitigation. 

This one-day seminar will offer the chance to learn from industry leaders, witness demonstrations of Legal Tech adoption, engage in discussions with peers, and gain diverse insights through a panel debate. AI is now pervasive in our lives, as consumers, and increasingly as professionals. As the market is maturing, the gap between leaders and followers are increasing. How do you bring AI from a nice-to-have to a tool that drives change, productivity, quality, and enhanced results at the core of your legal organization?

Christopher is the National Technology Officer for Norway in Microsoft. His background is in computer science, and has 20+ years of experience as a strategic leader in the IT industry. He works with thought leaders and policymakers on how we can adopt technology in an ethical, secure, and sustainable way.

Atle Oftedahl, Lead Data Scientist, Lovdata   

Lovdata have been a pioneer in the field of legal tech for over 40 years. They are here to show how new, and old, technology combines with their unique database of legal information to produce the future of legal search systems.

Atle is the Lead Data Scientist at Lovdata. He has worked at the intersection of AI and law for many years. Together with Lovdata he deveops legal work tools.

Victoria Swedjemark, Director, Head of Legal Operations & Transformation Services, KPMG   

What will the legal function and legal team of the future look like? What role will it play and how will it bring value? What will lawyers spend time on, and how will technology be deployed and used? What new skillsets and mindsets will be needed to thrive in the future? How will legal teams leverage data? Victoria will share key take-aways from the KPMG report “10 Predictions for the future legal department”. 

Victoria is based in Stockholm and heads up Legal Operations & Transformation Services at KPMG there. She and her team help inhouse legal leaders in optimizing the legal function and transforming for the future, including implement technology, and repurposing the legal team to highest value work, to make a truly strategic impact on business outcomes.

Patrick Sandahl, Investment Director, Investinor  

In his role at Investinor and as a board member of several companies, Patrick has solid experience and knowledge of the importance of security measures. He will share with us his firsthand experience with a cyberattack where the company's data were sold on the dark web, and how the company handled crisis management.

Patrick joined Investinor in 2018. He has more than 20 years of experience from transaction- and investment services, having previously headed an investment organization and been Partner in a VC fund as well as an investment banker. He also has long experience from board positions in listed and unlisted companies in Scandinavia. Patrick holds a Law Degree from University of Oslo.

Henrik Jorem, Lawyer, Equinor 

The Security Act applies to private enterprises in Norway that have a role in fulfilling fundamental national functions. The Act imposes requirements related to information, personnel and physical security, as well as restrictions concerning the use of suppliers and transactions with third parties. Understanding the implications of these requirements in a business context is important in order to assess the costs of compliance. 

Henrik is a lawyer at Equinor ASA. De holds a Ph.D from the University of Bergen with the thesis "The Devopment of the Right to Property in the European Convention in Human Rights". He has recently published an article about legal perspective on the significance of the Security Act for Norwegian companies.

Christy will talk about the geopolitical risk trends and hotspots which have the most impact in Norway. She will discuss the relevance of these risks for Norwegian companies

Christy is a partner in KPMG and leads the Corporate Intelligence Unit. She assists clients in identifying and mitigating third-party and reputational risks arising in transactional and other contexts, across a range of jurisdictions and industries.

Cathrine Bjoland-Øverby, Lawyer, Finans Norge   

Cathrine is a lawyer in Finans Norge – the trade and employers’ association for the financial industry in Norway. She is a key contributor to the guideline "Personnel Security in the Financial Industry", describing strategies and best practices for ensuring that the values, assets and security interests of the financial institutions are sufficiently protected, while also ensuring that applicable rights of candidates and employees are intact.

Lars Wilberg, Partner, KPMG

Lars is the head of the Forensic Technology (F-Tech) service area at KPMG's investigation unit. Lars has specialist expertise in the field of digital investigation, including securing electronic traces, search and analysis using advanced data investigation tools, and managing complex e-discovery projects in large investigation cases.

Antonio Martiradonna, CISO and as SVP of Information Security at Orkla

Antonio Martiradonna have 20 years of work experience, primarily in Information Security, last years serving as a CISO and as SVP of Information Security at Orkla. He has a keen interest in Information Security and like to explore many aspects of what makes a good security posture. Over the years, he has worked with technology, risk management, strategy, and general governance of cybersecurity.
