Finanstilsynet (the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority) has decided to waive the registration and annual fees for funds notified for marketing in Norway under the EEA passporting regime (AIFMD art. 32 and UCITS Directive art. 93) as of the fourth quarter of 2025. Moreover, Finanstilsynet has decided to no longer reflect funds distributed in Norway via the passporting regime in its online register. Instead, the authority refers to ESMA’s central database.

The authority will continue to charge processing and annual fees for applications to market alternative investment funds (AIFs) in Norway under the national private placement regime (Articles 36 and 42 of the AIFMD), as well as for applications from EEA alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) to market alternative investment funds to non-professional investors (Art. 43) in Norway. These funds continue to be reflected in the authority's register.
