      Primary goal

Enterprise-wide HR transformation and operating model redesign

      Technologies

HRIS, SLA dashboards, digitised HR operations, performance management systems

Over the past few years, SD Corp has evolved into an enterprise with operations spanning multiple asset classes. As the organisation scaled and diversified, there was an opportunity to strengthen and standardise HR systems, governance frameworks and people processes to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Recognising the importance of a future-ready people strategy, SD Corp collaborated with KPMG in India to undertake an enterprise-wide HR transformation focused on building a unified, scalable and governance-led people function. The objective was to further strengthen HR's role as a strategic enabler of business excellence and organisational growth.

The transformation established a structured HR operating model with standardised processes, enhanced workforce architecture, stronger governance and digital enablement, creating a stronger foundation to support future growth and business priorities.

      Key highlights

Multiple asset classes unified under a common HR governance framework and standardised people practices

Enhanced workforce effectiveness through role clarity, career architecture and workforce alignment initiatives

Enterprise-wide workforce mapping completed during organisational restructuring and de-merger integration

UJR-based role rationalisation undertaken to eliminate overlaps and clarify responsibilities across functions

Organisation-wide skills gap assessment conducted to design role-based learning journeys and capability-building programmes

HRIS implementation and SLA/RACI governance frameworks established to improve operational efficiency and governance

      The business context

As SD Corp expanded across multiple asset classes, its HR practices evolved independently across the organisation, creating an opportunity for greater alignment in people management, governance and workforce processes. Multiple HR systems, policies and operating approaches across entities highlighted the need for enhanced standardisation and enterprise-wide consistency.

Workforce processes such as payroll, onboarding and performance management were supported through a combination of manual and digital workflows, creating opportunities for further automation and efficiency. As the organisation undertook restructuring and business transitions, there was a need to help ensure seamless workforce continuity while aligning policies, compensation frameworks and employee records across entities.

This created an opportunity to establish a more integrated, scalable and governance-led HR operating model capable of supporting long-term business growth.

      The opportunity

KPMG in India designed and executed a structured HR transformation programme to help transition SD Corp to a scalable, governance-led operating model.
