In today's increasingly fragmented and uncertain world, energy-related disruption, geopolitical tensions, cyber threats, and resource constraints are creating ripple effects across industries, supply chains, and economies. As risks become more interconnected and systemic, organizations are being challenged to rethink traditional approaches to risk management and resilience.

About the Dynamic Risk Assessment (DRA)
This report is informed by KPMG’s DRA methodology, a forward-looking approach designed to help organizations better understand today’s increasingly complex risk environment. Unlike traditional risk assessments, the DRA considers not only the severity and likelihood of risks, but also their interconnectedness and velocity, helping to reveal how disruptions can spread across industries, supply chains, and geographies. Drawing on the perspectives of cross-sector leaders, economists, geopolitical specialists, and risk professionals, the methodology provides deeper insights into emerging risks and the cascading effects they can have on organizations and the broader business ecosystem.
Methodology
A portion of the quantitative data in this report is based on a global pulse survey conducted by Ipsos on behalf of KPMG International's Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals practice. The research explored how organizations are responding to an increasingly complex risk environment shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, cyber threats, supply chain volatility, climate-related events, and energy-related disruptions.
A total of 109 senior executives and business leaders participated, representing organizations across Automotive, Consumer and Retail, Financial Services, Industrial Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Transportation, Technology and Telecommunications, and Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals. Respondents held leadership roles spanning executive management, finance, operations, risk, technology, supply chain, strategy, and transformation.
The survey was conducted across major global markets including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Topics included risk exposure, resilience maturity, supply chain vulnerabilities, energy security, disruption preparedness, and resilience priorities over the next three to five years.
