      Capital Markets

KPMG’s Capital Markets Advisory (‘CMA’) team supports clients in any kind of equity raising in the London capital markets – be it an initial public offering (‘IPO’), raising new equity for established issuers or selling a stake in a quoted company in the public markets.

Our locally experienced team offers clients the broadest integrated portfolio of expertise available in the marketplace. This extends from deal experienced equity capital markets experts to accounting, regulatory, tax, compliance, corporate governance, and other technical specialists.

We assemble multi-disciplinary teams to provide a customised advisory approach for each transaction. Our advice is comprehensive, rooted in decades of deal experience, free of conflicts and completely focused on our clients’ objectives.

Our CMA team specialises in UK and Channel Islands investment funds. We have acted as an adviser/reporting accountant in:

      • Initial Public Offerings
      • Secondary Issuances
      • Step up engagements
      • S.110 reconstructions (rollover)

The team is also experienced in assisting with IPO readiness assessments. With the guidance and expertise of KPMG’s CMA team, this often complex and challenging task can be an immensely productive exercise. We can empower clients to take this step with confidence through an assessment of investment funds ready for entry to public markets.

      UK Listing Regime Overhaul

Regulators have approved the most significant overhaul of listing rules for London-listed companies in over three decades, effective from 29 July 2024. The new framework, introduced by the FCA, replaces the previous premium and standard listing segments with a single category for commercial companies, along with other modifications. If you have any questions about how these changes may affect you, please don’t hesitate to contact our specialist team.

      Banking

The banking sector had having to transform at pace – from addressing the issues arising from the 2008 Financial Crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, to more recent shifts to a far more digital operating and distribution model to responding to regulatory challenge.

To thrive in an era of digital currencies and contactless payments, businesses needs to operate seamlessly across virtual and physical domains. Technology is also underpinning some fundamental changes in the way we work. The need to ensure you are building resilient processes, teams, and organisations is clear. You are now required to adopt new risk models and strategies to ensure you successfully manage the new challenges across cyber, third-party risk, and financial resilience.

In addition to all this, there is the need to navigate the ever-evolving regulatory change, and pressure on cost management and growth.
