      Overview

We were delighted to bring together an exceptional speaker lineup:

      • Dr Benedikt Herles, Co-Lead, Geopolitics & Defence Technology, KPMG Germany
      • Anita McBain, Expert sell-side research analyst in sustainability, defence tech, climate & security
      • Matt Brehaut, Partner, Carey Olsen

For much of the past two decades, markets have been shaped primarily by macroeconomic forces; interest rates, earnings and monetary policy. In 2026, geopolitics has re-emerged as a defining driver of global capital flows, materially reshaping the risk landscape that Boards and C-suites must actively navigate.

What should Boards and investors be asking in this new environment?

We also explored how shifting global dynamics are accelerating investment into defence technology and reshaping investor sentiment. What role can private capital play in supporting resilience, security and long-term sustainability? What structural shifts are emerging across the sector? And what are the key legal and regulatory considerations for Guernsey?
