      Understanding the class action

On January 25, 2019, a former member of the Canadian Armed forces instituted class action proceedings to seek redress for alleged miscalculations in disability pension payments over a 21-year period.

On December 23, 2020, the class action was certified by the Federal Court for the class consisting of all current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as well as their spouses, common-law partners, dependents, survivors, and eligible estates, who received certain disability-related benefits between 2003 and 2023.

In February 2024, KPMG was appointed Administrator, and the administration is ongoing.
