The GMS team of KPMG is a specialist group within the firm that provides advice and support to organizations on managing the mobility of their employees globally as well as meeting employer obligations when employing local employees or the individual taxpayers. This includes helping clients with individual tax, compulsory insurances, payroll, immigration, and compliance issues related to both international assignments and local employment obligations. The team leverages KPMG's global network and expertise to provide a comprehensive and integrated solution to meet the complex needs of clients' global mobility programs.

Job description:

We are seeking a motivated, responsible and detail-oriented individual to join our GMS team as an Assistant. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and be eager to learn about global mobility and the professional services industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist engagement team to provide excellent and high-quality services to our Client, including but not limited to:
    • Research regulations and apply understanding of legislation to client case under guidance and instruction
    • Assist in preparing tax returns, payroll calculation and tax advice 
    • Assist in preparing immigration applications including visa and work permits
    • Assist in preparing materials for tax/immigration briefings for client meetings 
    • Interact with the Tax, Social Insurance, Immigration and Labor authorities and other relevant authorities in relation to clients’ affairs and service provision
    • Provide administrative support for the engagements  
    • Other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on applicable regulations and best practices in global mobility.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects in business/economic/commerce or related fields.
  • A good command of spoken and written English, showcased by confidence in speaking to foreigners.
  • Competent and literate with the following packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team.
  • Ability to work and perform under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth.
