In parallel to the EU OPEN DAYS official 2014 program, KPMG EU is hosting a workshop on new approaches to welfare-to-work in Europe

On October 8, KPMG EU is hosting a workshop on ‘New ways to engaging the unemployed in the workforce’ as part of the official 2014 EU OPEN DAYS program. The workshop will explore new approaches to welfare-to-work in Europe, through the experiences of DG Employment, the European Parliament, national governments and private sector organizations.

Addressed to EU, national, regional and local policy/decision-makers, authorities managing cohesion policy programs, academics and private companies, the goal of the session is to exchange best practices and create a meaningful debate on innovative solutions that can support policymakers in making a real change.

The speakers include :

  • MEP Danuta Jazlowiecka, member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs at the European Parliament
  • Loris Di  Pietrantonio, Deputy Head of Unit ‘European Employment Strategy’ at DG Employment, Social affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission
  • Jonathan Clear, ‎Deputy Finance Director at the UK Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Iain Gravestock, Partner at KPMG UK, and Pawel Darski, Senior Manager at KPMG Poland, who will present experiences of designing and implementing welfare to work programs.

Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion. The audience will then be given the floor for an interactive Q&A session.
