      Tourism in Türkiye

The global tourism industry has entered a new growth phase, moving beyond post-pandemic recovery and toward a more resilient and value-driven future. As international travel demand continues to strengthen, destinations are increasingly focusing on enhancing visitor spending, experience quality, and long-term competitiveness rather than solely increasing visitor volumes. At the same time, geopolitical developments, shifting traveler preferences, energy costs, security concerns, and climate-related risks are reshaping the operating environment and influencing destination strategies worldwide.

Against this backdrop, Türkiye continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's leading tourism destinations. Supported by growing visitor volumes, longer average stays, and an increasingly diversified tourism offering, the country is expanding beyond its traditional sun-and-sea proposition. Cultural heritage, gastronomy, health and wellness tourism, maritime experiences, and experience-led travel products are enhancing Türkiye’s appeal to a broader range of travelers while contributing to higher tourism revenues and a more sustainable growth trajectory.

Looking ahead, sustainability, digital transformation, and experience-centric travel are expected to define the next chapter of industry development. Growing interest in community-based tourism, wellness experiences, responsible travel, and alternative accommodation concepts continues to reshape visitor expectations across global markets. As Türkiye further advances its sustainable tourism agenda and enriches its tourism ecosystem, it is well positioned to enhance its global competitiveness. Furthermore, the COP31 Climate Summit, scheduled to take place in Antalya in 2026, also presents a unique opportunity to showcase Türkiye’s sustainability ambitions on the international stage and accelerate the sector’s long-term transformation.
