The race for renewable energy is well and truly underway. As countries accelerate their journeys towards net zero, new trends and technologies are transforming the way the world produces, delivers and consumes energy — shifting the focus from fossil fuels to clean fuel tech.

While solar, wind and hydro energy alternatives provide resilient solutions for the journey ahead, geographical concerns and energy security issues have put the spotlight on another key player: nuclear energy.

Solar is predictable in output but requires significant amounts of land beyond roof-mounted panels, making it less suited to highly-populated areas. Hydroelectric, the most developed renewable energy source, can provide consistent and controllable output but often involves flooding land.

Despite fears over its use, nuclear is fast emerging as a viable replacement for coal and natural gas in the global energy mix. Find out why in our report.
