In mid-February, a webinar was held on the topic of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). The session was designed for everyone – both those who are at the beginning of their journey toward corporate sustainability and those who are aligning their operations with the regulatory requirements of European Union countries.
The German Supply Chain Act, officially known as the "Supply Chain Due Diligence Act" (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG), became effective on January 1, 2023. The law requires large companies to ensure compliance with human rights and environmental standards throughout their supply chains.
Our experts, Jovan Šljivić, Senior Manager, Stanislava Levačić, Senior Consultant, and Lana Hadži-Niković, Senior Associate, made sure to explain the requirements of this law during the webinar, provide valuable insights from practice, and answer all potential questions.
Based on the survey conducted during the webinar, it was determined that most companies are still adjusting their operations to meet the new requirements, and there is some uncertainty regarding compliance with the LkSG.
