The new EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) introduces rules that will change the way many companies manage their supply chains.
During the webinar, the KPMG team discussed the practical challenges and obligations brought by this regulation, with a particular focus on the industries most affected – food, agriculture, forestry, pharmaceuticals and automotive. Participants had the opportunity to learn about what EUDR specifically regulates, which products fall under its provisions, how evidence of a product’s sustainable origin is required, how to prepare a due diligence statement and why geolocation data will become a mandatory part of documentation.
The results of a survey conducted during the webinar showed that some industries are already actively working to comply with the requirements – but also that the administrative aspect of the process (especially data collection) is recognized as a significant challenge.
Presenters Stanislava Levačić and David Škorić highlighted the significance of this regulation – EUDR is not just an obligation, but also an opportunity to improve business sustainability and enhance trust in supply chains. A shorted version of their presentation is available on the page.
