The objective of CBAM regulation is to mitigate the risk of „carbon leakage“ which comes from the removal of free EU ETS permits, as well as to encourage countries outside of the EU to establish their own carbon tax policy.

Our colleagues - ESG experts, Nina Mihajlović, Senior Consultant and Jovan Šljivić, Senior Manager, together with Gordana Pejović from SGS Belgrade, presented to the webinar attendees the following topics: requirements for monitoring and calculating emissions, default values, reporting structure for the transition period, and the process of emissions verification by accredited verifiers.

A large number of attendees in our CBAM webinar shows that companies are being faced with the request that is not easy to implement, especially having in mind the deadline for the submission of the first quarterly report - 31 January.

We answered many questions, especially those brought up by representatives of the companies operating in some of the sectors covered by the regulation on the EU mechanism for cross-border carbon adjustment. We believe that we managed to clarify some aspects of this complex topic.
