On 23 September 2025, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) [Polish National Development Bank] announced a new call for applications under the “Zazielenienie Przedsiębiorstw” [Business Greening] scheme, valued at PLN 350 million. Its goal is to support modernization of business infrastructure, including buildings, machinery and tooling, to promote overall energy efficiency.
We invite you to take part in this initiative. We encourage you to cooperate with KPMG to examine the full terms of the call and submit your applications.
In the face of growing challenges related to the energy transition and the need to enhance the competitiveness of Polish enterprises, investment in modern, energy-efficient solutions is becoming crucial for the continued development and sustainable growth of companies. In response to these needs, the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) has launched a call for applications under the so-called “Green Loan” scheme.
Green Loan
The call for applications under the “Green Loan” scheme is intended for businesses with no more than 3,000 employees, aiming to achieve at least a 30% reduction in primary energy consumption in the modernized area compared to the current level. The instrument is designed to provide debt financing for thermal modernization, the replacement of heating sources with more environmentally friendly alternatives, and the modernization of equipment, installations, or production lines.
Eligible costs encompass various categories of expenditure necessary for investment projects, including the acquisition of fixed assets; the procurement of civil engineering works and materials; the acquisition of intangible assets such as patents, licenses, and know-how, as well as other intellectual property rights; and the commissioning of studies, expert opinions, concepts, and technical designs prepared by external advisors engaged in the implementation of the project.
The total funding available under the call amounts to PLN 350 million, with the minimum project value set at PLN 2 million. The funding will take the form of a green bonus, that is, a reimbursement of part of the principal of a green loan, amounting to up to 80% of eligible costs, depending on the type of expenditure, the size of the enterprise, and the location of the investment project. Application should be submitted directly to the BGK.
Simultaneously, BGK is accepting applications for loans from businesses investing in renewable energy sources (RES), with the aim of supporting the construction and expansion of RES installations, the development of energy storage facilities dedicated to specific RES sources, and the connection of RES to power and/or heating grids. The loan may range from PLN 3 million to PLN 15 million, depending on the region, with the possibility of redemption of up to 50%.
