In the first half of 2022, the total value of real estate investments in CEE countries amounted to more than €5 billion, with Poland accounting for more than half of the volume (56%). Despite the increase in investment in CEE countries compared to the first half of 2021, investors are cautious due to the economic and geopolitical situation or the increase in financing costs. Already in the second half of 2022, a decline in real estate investment can be observed, and time will tell whether this slowdown will be long-lasting.

This year's edition of KPMG's Property Lending Barometer survey analyzing the willingness of banks in Central and Eastern Europe to finance real estate investments involved more than 40 respondents representing financial institutions from 10 European countries, including Poland.
